The guesthouse is rented as an entire home, allowing you to enjoy the space privately—whether you're traveling alone or with the whole family. The house can accommodate up to six guests.
There is a double bed (150 x 200 cm) for a well-deserved night’s rest. In addition, four mattresses are available for those who prefer a more traditional sleeping experience on tatami mats. Here too, we’ve opted for extra comfort by replacing the original futons with floor mattresses topped with a soft topper.
We’ve made sure to include thoughtful amenities for those travelling with children. There is a baby bed and high chair available.
Guests can explore the local cuisine at nearby restaurants, but thanks to the fully equipped kitchen, you can also prepare your own meals with ease.
The bathroom features both a rain shower and a bathtub. All essentials such as shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are provided, along with other small toiletries.
A washing machine is available, and laundry can be dried in the bathroom using the built-in drying system.

UTENA BEACH
Utena Beach is one of the hidden gems of the Seto Inland Sea. This small, peaceful beach is known for its crystal-clear water, soft sand, and stunning natural surroundings, with mountains rising behind and calm island views stretching out in front.
Unlike crowded tourist beaches, Utena has a quiet and authentic atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to relax, swim, or simply enjoy the slow pace of island life. The beach is well maintained and offers basic facilities such as changing rooms and showers, while still keeping its natural charm.
One of the best things about Utena Beach is its location — it is just a 3-minute walk from our guesthouse, making it incredibly easy to start your day with a refreshing swim or end it with a peaceful sunset by the sea.
Whether you're visiting Omishima to cycle the Shimanami Kaido or simply looking to unwind, Utena Beach is the perfect nearby escape.
OYAMAZUMI SHRINE
The Ōyamazumi Shrine is one of the most important and historic shrines in the region. Dedicated to Ōyamazumi-no-Kami, the deity of mountains, seas, and war, the shrine has been a place of worship for over a thousand years and holds deep spiritual significance for both locals and visitors.
Surrounded by ancient camphor trees—some of which are over 2,600 years old—the shrine grounds offer a serene and almost mystical atmosphere. As you walk along the peaceful pathways, you’ll immediately feel a sense of calm and connection to nature. The shrine is also famous for its impressive collection of samurai armour and weapons, many of which have been donated by legendary warriors such as Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
Beyond its historical importance, Ōyamazumi Shrine is a perfect place to slow down and experience traditional Japanese culture. Whether you come to admire its ancient trees, explore its rich history, or simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings, this sacred site is a must-visit during your stay on Omishima.
Best of all, it is located only 5minutes from our guesthouse, making it an easy and rewarding cultural excursion.
SALT FACTORY
The Hakata Salt Co., Ltd. Omishima Factory offers an interesting insight into the refined Japanese approach to salt production.
While the process starts with solar sea salt imported from places such as Mexico and Australia, it is here on Omishima that the salt is carefully reprocessed. It is dissolved, purified, and recrystallised using local seawater from the Seto Inland Sea, resulting in a clean, balanced flavour with a subtle mineral richness. This combination of global sourcing and local craftsmanship makes the production process both efficient and unique.
Visitors can explore the factory, learn more about how this everyday ingredient is perfected, and gain a deeper appreciation for the attention to detail behind it. It’s a simple yet fascinating stop that reflects the island’s connection to both tradition and innovation.
To top off your visit, you can even try their surprisingly delicious salt-flavoured ice cream — a local favourite. Even better, the factory is within walking distance of the house, making it an easy and worthwhile experience during your stay.
MARE GRASSIA ONSEN
Located near the coast of Omishima, the Mare Grassia Omishima is a relaxing seaside onsen where you can fully unwind after a day of exploring the island.
This unique bath facility is inspired by thalassotherapy, using seawater and marine minerals to help relax the body and restore energy. The baths combine both saltwater and fresh water, along with a sauna and indoor and outdoor pools, all designed to promote a deep sense of calm and wellbeing.
One of the highlights is the open-air bath, where you can soak while enjoying beautiful views over the Seto Inland Sea — especially stunning at sunset.
The atmosphere is simple and local, making it an authentic experience rather than a luxury spa. It’s the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and experience a small but essential part of Japanese culture.
Even better, the onsen is located close to the house, making it an easy and relaxing addition to your stay on the island.
